About the Owner
Sam Kruiner is a trade and private sector development specialist with a passion for unlocking the growth potential of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the Caribbean. With over 30 years of experience, both in senior roles in the private sector and within the field of development, Sam brings a strategic yet grounded approach to building stronger business ecosystems, shaping export strategies, and supporting SMEs achievement of meaningful growth.

Originally from Suriname, Sam’s journey has taken him across the region, from Barbados to the British Virgin Islands, and Curaçao, where he is based. Each chapter has deepened his understanding of the region’s challenges and opportunities, and reinforced his commitment to sustainable, locally driven development.

With academic foundations in Business Economics (Anton de Kom University of Suriname) and an EMBA (University of the West Indies, Barbados), Sam has initiated, led and contributed to numerous regional initiatives, often financed by the European Union, the Government of the United Kingdom, United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and the Caribbean Development Bank. His expertise spans export development, grants management, project management, investment facilitation, Business Support Organization (BSO) capacity building, and Small and Medium-sized Enterprise (SME) innovation.

He has held senior advisory and technical roles with organizations such as Caribbean ExportDevelopment Agency (CEDA), GOPA Worldwide Consultants, the Ministry of Economic Development (Curaçao), and Curacao Investment and Export Promotion Agency (CINEX). Sam is especially proud of his contributions to the Curaçao National Export Strategy and his efforts in connecting local businesses to regional and global markets.
