Suriname Insight 2022 – Trade Mission to Paramaribo

In November 2022, X4G, in collaboration with MIND SC, traveled to Suriname with a delegation of 17 companies and organizations from Curaçao for a special trade mission called Suriname Insight 2022. The goal was to learn more about the exciting economic developments taking place in Suriname, particularly in light of the recent offshore oil discoveries.

What we discovered was truly impressive. Experts believe the oil and gas potential in the Surinamese section of the Guyana-Suriname Basin could rival that of Norway. But this mission was about more than just oil – we found real opportunities for Curaçaoan businesses in financial services, tourism, logistics, and trade.

Equally important was the keen interest from the Surinamese side. Many local businesses and institutions expressed a desire to collaborate with Curaçao as a gateway for foreign investment and international partnerships.

This mission established the foundation for long-term collaboration and motivated us to move forward.
